USA importers can source kratom from Indonesia, Thailand, Peru, Ecuador, Borneo and Malaysia, however, not Bali. So the name really does not mean what you think it does. It usually is denoted to a strain that has Mitragynine levels just below that of the Maeng da variety..

The Compounds in Bali Kratom
Kratom has 25 compounds, however, its alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are the only active alkaloids. Mitragyna Speciosa contain the alkaloids:
Mitragynine – The main active constituent in kratom, Mitragyna Speciosa.
7-hydroxymitragynine – Kratom alkaloid in higher concentrations in white mango da strains
Mitragynine Pseudoindoxyl – Created through the fermentation of mitragynine
Mitraphylline – This non-narcotic oxindole derivative is found in the bark of Cat’s Claw. Mitrpahyline is also found in high concentrations in kratom leaves.d
Note on Kratom Legality. In 2016 the DEA tried to ban kratom’s active alkaloids, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. The ban was overturned due to public outrage and support of the medical and rehabilitation communities.
